These terms govern your use of takase.com and your purchase of designs from this site.

What You Receive

When you purchase a design, you receive a high-resolution PDF and a perpetual, personal-use license to that design.

Personal Use

Your license permits personal, non-commercial use: tattoo reference, framing, engraving, personal gifts, personal printing, and personal websites.

Your license does not permit resale, redistribution, use in products for sale, use in design templates, or claiming authorship of the calligraphy.

Commercial Use

A commercial license is available as a separate purchase. The commercial license permits use in advertising, product packaging, merchandise, and commercial media.

Copyright

Every design on this site is original calligraphy by Master Japanese Calligrapher Eri Takase. All intellectual property rights remain with Takase Studios, LLC. Your purchase grants a license to use the design. It does not transfer ownership of the artwork.

Accuracy

Our Japanese translations are researched from 19 scholarly etymology sources across 11 languages. Every design page links to the dictionary entry for independent verification.

Site Use

You may browse and search this site freely. Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or systematic extraction of content is prohibited.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, USA.
